Self-examination during Baby Week in Senhor do Bonfim
The Municipality of Senhor do Bonfim, through its Health Department, is promoting a self-examination campaign for mothers during Baby Week, aiming to highlight the importance of ensuring the survival and development of children from the womb through breastfeeding until the age of six. This initiative seeks to offer support, care, and protection to mothers and their babies.
The importance of the Golden August Campaign during Baby Week.
The opening of Baby and Breastfeeding Week took place last Tuesday (1), with the participation of nurse and professor Tatiane Pina. This action is part of the Golden August Campaign, which encourages breastfeeding throughout the country and promotes special public policies for early childhood.
Strategies for social mobilization during Baby Week
Throughout the week, various activities were carried out in different locations, such as the Alto da Maravilha Health Unit, Quice, Santos Dumont, CRAS – Igara, Mutirão, Carrapichel, Bonfim III and São Jorge, as well as the Antônio Monteiro Hospital. These actions will continue throughout the month, employing social mobilization strategies.
Lectures and discussion panels on relevant topics during Baby Week.
The mothers were invited to participate in lectures and discussion groups at the Family Health Strategies (ESF) units, where they could discuss topics such as breastfeeding, infant mortality, teenage pregnancy, and the formation of family and social bonds with the baby, among other important issues.
The commitment to comprehensive actions during Baby Week.
The Baby Week is being conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the UNICEF Seal, which values the comprehensiveness and intersectorality of actions. The Departments of Social Assistance, Health, and Education are working together to ensure that this week is a milestone in the care and development of children in Senhor do Bonfim, highlighted the Secretary of Health, Renata Maia.
