The Secretary of Agricultural Development of Senhor do Bonfim seeks partnerships with the Bank of the Northeast.

The Secretary of Agricultural Development of Senhor do Bonfim, Paulo Terra Nova, met this Tuesday (27) with representatives of Banco do Nordeste. The objective of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of establishing a partnership between the Secretariat and the bank to finance projects in family farming.

2023/2024 Crop Plan

One of the points discussed during the meeting was the launch of the 2023/2024 Harvest Plan, which aims to support and boost the development of the agricultural sector. Banco do Nordeste expressed interest in financing various agricultural activities, such as coffee cultivation, dairy cattle farming, free-range poultry farming, goat/sheep farming, and agro-industry.

Importance of the partnership

Secretary Paulo Terra Nova highlighted that this partnership with Banco do Nordeste is fundamental to boosting agribusiness in the municipality of Senhor do Bonfim. He emphasized the importance of financial support for rural producers, especially those in family farming.

In turn, representatives from Banco do Nordeste praised the actions taken by the Secretariat of Agricultural Development, especially in serving rural producers, providing technical assistance, rural extension services, and issuing essential documents for obtaining rural credit.
