Laércio Junior, mayor of Senhor do Bonfim, seeks solutions for the municipal landfill.
Fulfilling his schedule of commitments in the state capital, the mayor of Senhor do Bonfim, Laércio Junior, accompanied by the Secretary of Infrastructure – Francisco Marinho and the Executive Secretary of the Piemonte Norte do Itapicuru consortium – Toinho Cerqueira, visited the SEINFRA headquarters to discuss matters related to the municipal landfill. The meeting was attended by the State Secretary of Infrastructure – Sérgio Brito, the Coordinator of the Superintendence of Transportation Infrastructure of Bahia – Renan Menezes, and State Representative Bobô.
Actions for the operation of the Senhor do Bonfim Regional Aerodrome
Among the topics discussed during the meeting were actions to enable the operation of the Senhor do Bonfim Regional Aerodrome, located near the district of Quicé. Among the actions discussed, the following stand out: covering the existing garbage at the site, draining rainwater and leachate, and creating a new cell for receiving garbage from now on. This new cell would receive daily attention, which would eliminate the presence of vultures and herons in the area, a factor that currently prevents the aerodrome runway from being opened.
Mayor Laércio Junior emphasized that, in order for the runway to be cleared and the aerodrome to consequently become operational, approval from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) will be necessary. For this reason, ANAC representatives will be invited to participate in a new meeting where, together with the municipal and state governments and the Piemonte Norte do Itapicuru Consortium, they can discuss and seek alternatives to resolve the landfill issue and meet ANAC's requirements.
