Mayor Laércio Junior discusses actions for improvements on BR-407.

Mayor Laércio Junior, accompanied by the Secretary of Infrastructure Francisco Marinho and councilors: Idailton Galeguinho (President of the Chamber), Babão, Netinho do Táxi, Elizeu dos Temperos, Reinaldo José and Ary Urbano, was at the headquarters of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure – DNIT in Senhor do Bonfim this Thursday morning (14), where he discussed with Dr. Roberto Alcântara de Souza, Regional Superintendent of the agency in the state of Bahia, actions on important sections of the BR-407.

Demands presented to ensure traffic flow and safety.

The manager presented several demands aimed at ensuring the traffic flow and safety of both pedestrians and drivers traveling on BR-407 within the municipality, in a section that extends from the old Cormasa bypass to the entrance of the Brisas do Monte Residential area. During the meeting, DNIT was informed that the city hall has a project to revitalize the bypass at the city entrance, but that it would need more information and approval from the agency's technicians before this work could be carried out.

Possibility of implementing access and constructing access ramps.

The meeting also addressed the possibility of implementing an access road in the workshop area, near the pedestrian overpass, on a stretch that will be paved by the city government. Another action requested by the mayor was the construction of access ramps from BR-407 to Avenida Florestal, UPA24 (24-hour emergency care unit), and SAMU (emergency medical service). It was agreed that next week the DNIT (National Department of Transport Infrastructure) technician will notify the infrastructure department to begin visits to the locations where the administration is requesting the interventions.
