**Drug trafficker from the Crime Deck dies during police confrontation in Campo Formoso**

One man died and another escaped during a police operation carried out by the 54th Independent Company of the Military Police (CIPM/Campo Formoso) in the city of Campo Formoso, Bahia. The drug trafficker Leonardo Silva Moraes, known as “Leo Careca” or “Fio,” who was the Queen of Diamonds in the Public Security Secretariat's (SSP) Crime Deck, died during the confrontation with the police.

According to the unit commander, Major Gil André de Santana Leite, the police received information that Leonardo was traveling in a blue Siena model vehicle. When approached, the criminal and an accomplice fled and fired at the officers, initiating a shootout. During the confrontation, Leonardo was hit and did not survive his injuries, passing away.

The drug trafficker's accomplice managed to escape. At the scene of the operation, a .380 caliber pistol, an extended magazine, ammunition, and nine bags of cocaine were seized. The incident was registered at the Territorial Police Station (DT) of Campo Formoso.

Leonardo Silva Moraes had an extensive criminal record and was added to the Crime Deck in 2018, taking the position of Marcos Paulo dos Santos, known as "Paulinho," on the Queen of Diamonds card.

Léo Careca had been wanted for quite some time and was under investigation for various crimes, including homicides, in addition to being identified as the leader of drug trafficking in the city of Lençóis, in the Chapada Diamantina region.
