The City Hall of Senhor do Bonfim denies rumors about the cancellation of a festival in the Carrapichel District.

The Municipality of Senhor do Bonfim publicly denies the rumors circulating about the alleged cancellation of the festival in the Carrapichel District, following the opening of the religious festival of the patron saints Sant'Ana and São Joaquim, celebrated between July 22nd and 26th.

Request from Father Airton Ferreira

Last year, during the final night of the festivities, Father Airton Ferreira, Parish Administrator of Senhor do Bonfim Parish, requested during a special mass that the secular celebration, held in the streets, be separated from the religious celebration. The priest expressed his desire to preserve the spirituality of the moment and avoid interference with the liturgical rituals.

Commitment of the Municipal Administration

The Municipal Government has committed to fulfilling the community's requests and holding the festivities for the patron saints without loud music or other unwanted disturbances. Furthermore, the administration is available to dialogue with the community and find a solution so that the secular festivities can take place on a weekend following the religious celebrations, in order to respect church authorities.

Authorization for musical performances

The City Hall clarifies that at no time was any request received for musical performances on the 22nd and 23rd, during the religious celebration. Therefore, these performances were not authorized, both due to the lack of a formal request and out of respect for the religious festivities. The secular celebration, with musical performances, will take place next weekend, on the 29th and 30th.

Commitment to legality and respect.

The Municipality of Senhor do Bonfim reiterates its commitment to acting within the law and, above all, to respecting all people. Dialogue with the community and the preservation of religious rituals are essential principles for the municipal administration.
