International Day of Family Farming in Senhor do Bonfim

On International Family Farming Day, celebrated annually and established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the municipality of Senhor do Bonfim, in Bahia, held a special meeting with representatives of family farming in the municipality.

Lectures and Goals of the 2023/2024 Harvest Plan

After a hearty breakfast, leaders from 60 Community Associations of Family Farming attended a lecture with representatives from Banco do Nordeste. During the lecture, the goals of the 2023/2024 Harvest Plan were presented, especially the resources allocated to Family Farming.

Topics such as the issuance of Pronaf Eligibility Declarations (DAP) for Family Farming, the Dairy Cattle and Goat/Sheep Production Chains, the Our Coffee Project, Free-Range Chicken, and Rural Mechanization (land tilling) were also addressed.

Recognition and Investments

The Secretary of Agricultural Development, Paulo Terra Nova, took the opportunity to congratulate everyone present on Family Farming Day and to praise the good relationship between the associations and the secretariat. Mayor Laércio Junior also congratulated those present and highlighted the investments that the municipal administration has been making in family farming.

This initiative by the municipality of Senhor do Bonfim demonstrates its commitment to and support for family farming activities, promoting the growth and strengthening of this sector, which is fundamental to local development.
