Allegation of mistreatment at a health center in the São Jorge neighborhood, in Senhor do Bonfim – BA.

A report by the Pega Fogo program on Rainha FM radio, through reporter Netto Maravilha, received a complaint of mistreatment by a civil servant working in the pharmacy of the São Jorge neighborhood health center, disrespecting the wife of a patient who uses medications distributed there.

Complainant reports humiliation suffered.

The woman reported feeling humiliated, that she couldn't sleep properly because of the humiliation she suffered, and that she wouldn't let it go unpunished, demanding action from the competent authorities.

I would like to file a complaint regarding humiliation within the public health system.

So what happened was at the health center at R. Nilo Corrêa, 1016 – São Jorge, Sr. do Bonfim – BA, 48970-000.

Yesterday afternoon, at exactly 3:08 PM, I went to pick up my husband's medication, as he is diabetic. When I handed my husband's medication control card to the pharmacy attendant at the health center, she asked me if I had used the card to wipe my bottom, because the card was soiled with feces.

So, indignant at what I had heard, I asked her again what she had said. She then replied asking if I had swiped my card on shit.

So, Netto, what happens is I wonder where we're headed... Not with this kind of employee, because a person who works in healthcare doesn't have a shred of empathy for human beings, for the citizen that I am.

A person who was supposed to protect human health, instead causing harm to human health. I was so embarrassed that I left with back pain and a stomach ache from how humiliated I was by what happened.

Furthermore, according to information from third parties I know within the organization, I am not the first person she has acted this way towards. It's worth noting that she even picked up the card with her fingertips and returned it to me with the same fingertips, looking disgusted.

"And what happened is that I couldn't sleep all night thinking about what happened. Yesterday I looked for a lawyer, but the lawyer advised me to write a letter and send it to her superiors, but I looked for an email, I looked for a contact and I couldn't find one," said the woman.

Attitude of the Primary Care Coordinator of the Municipality

After receiving the complaint, the news team immediately contacted the Municipal Primary Care Coordinator, nurse Ana Paula, who, in a completely impartial manner, sought out the employee. According to Ana Paula, the receptionist confirmed that she had spoken to the complainant in that way, but said she didn't imagine the woman would take it seriously. She also commented that she knows the person and that she had been her tenant, and she didn't imagine the person would take it that way. The receptionist also said that she is going through a difficult time and had been thinking about taking vacation next month, and expressed remorse, stating that this had never happened to her before. She told the coordinator that she would contact the woman and formally apologize.

Measures taken by the coordination

Ana Paula reported that the employee was warned and that she has been working to prevent this type of situation with employees when assisting patients and the general public.

Mayor asks for quality service for the population.

The embarrassing service has gone against what Mayor Laércio Junior advocates, who has vehemently requested that municipal employees, in general, provide good service to the residents of Bonfim.
