But what is PIS?
First of all, we must point out that PIS is a very interesting program that currently reaches well over 24 million Brazilians.
Generally, PIS, like FGTS, is a program linked to labor rights, that is, to our own working conditions, whether we are public employees or private sector workers.
Furthermore, this program is currently managed by Caixa Econômica Federal and is paid once a year, which basically corresponds to a 14th salary.
Who wouldn't like to receive an extra payment in the middle or at the end of the year? With the PIS/PASEP program under other viable terms.
It should also be noted that, until 2015, the PIS/PASEP was exactly that: an extra minimum wage, which was made available once a year.
Currently, however, the SIP has a completely new configuration, with the cost calculated based on the months worked in the reference year, which is usually the previous year.
How does PIS work?
PIS is a cost "X" that goes directly from the organization's payroll to a fund at Caixa Econômica Federal. In other words, it is nothing more than a quota held by workers, which is managed by regulatory entities.
This fund is mandated by law, and organizations are required to make the payment in all cases because it is a right of salaried workers.
How do I withdraw PIS/PASEP funds?
If you find that there is a portion available for withdrawal on the Caixa website, you must follow the payment schedule at the end of this article in order to withdraw the benefit.
