The city of Senhor do Bonfim is holding its 1st Gastronomy Festival.

The city of Senhor do Bonfim, located in north-central Bahia, held a Gastronomic Showcase this past weekend as part of the city's 1st Gastronomy Festival, which will run until September 16th at participating establishments. During September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, approximately 8,000 people visited Praça Nova do Congresso, the traditional location for the city's cultural events.

Attractions for the whole family

The event, organized by the Municipality of Senhor do Bonfim through the Department of Development, by Sebrae with support from Senac and Creative Direction and Consulting by Ori Brazil, featured attractions for the whole family. In addition to the Gastronomic Showcase, the festival brought together 16 establishments from the city's food service sector and various other musical and cultural attractions.

Theme: "Gastronomy of Our People"

With the theme "Gastronomy of Our People," the event featured the participation of local artists and performances by the União dos Ferroviários Bonfinenses Philharmonic Orchestra, Dan Gomez, Juh Santana, Quadrilha Alegria Que Contagia, Fábio Brasil, Dudu Negreiros, David Amorim, and Oscar Araújo.

Variety of attractions and recipes

In addition to musical performances, the festival offered visitors a book fair, an exhibition of local crafts, a large kids' area, and cooking classes with chef Tassia Andrade from Senac. The recipes presented in the classes were prepared with typical regional ingredients, such as sweet potato gnocchi with cilantro pesto, goat croquettes with umbu barbecue sauce, and licuri brigadeiro on a stick.

A successful event boosting tourism and the local economy.

The 1st Gastronomy Festival of Senhor do Bonfim is the result of a project carried out in the Senac mobile training unit, which was present in the municipality for 6 months, training more than 800 people. Many of the students are already starting their own businesses or finding jobs related to gastronomy. This initiative proves the city's tourist and economic potential.

Overall, the festival was a true moment of transformation for the participating companies, generating visibility and good business for the food service sector in the region.
