With the goal of spreading the traditions of the June festivities and honoring the King of Bai\u00e3o, who sang about the hardships and beauties of the Sert\u00e3o region, the Canta Luiz project begins its 2023 performance schedule in Tucano\/BA, next Friday the 9th.<\/p>\n
The initiative, carried out by the Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brincantes do Folclore Nordestino with sponsorship from Ferbasa, will bring the joy of Northeastern culture to 21 municipalities in the interior of Bahia. Composed of seven musicians (5 on accordions, 1 on triangle and 1 on zabumba), the Orquestra Sanf\u00f4nica will play the classics that immortalized Gonzag\u00e3o.<\/p>\n
Canta Luiz will also perform in cities such as Pojuca, Andorinha, Catu, Marac\u00e1s, Planaltino, Entre Rios, Senhor do Bonfim, Campo Formoso, Conde, Itanagra, Caetit\u00e9 and Pinda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough its social responsibility program, Ferbasa supports projects that value and preserve the art and culture of our people, especially conserving the intangible heritage of our state. Thus, Canta Luiz is an action celebrating the music and identity of the Northeast,\u201d says Ana L\u00facia Freitas, social responsibility analyst at Ferbasa.<\/p>\n
Since 2018, more than 70 performances have been held in Bahia, reaching approximately 100,000 people annually.<\/p>\n
